My Other Country Is the World

Sometimes, the only chance we have to learn of an exceptional individual is when we read his/her obit. Such is the case (for me, anyway) with Garry Davis, a self-proclaimed citizen of the world and founder of the World Government of World Citizens: http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-garry-davis-20130801,0,7051529.story
Davis's website includes a video of him explaining the concept and the WGWC pledge of allegiance, which begins "A World Citizen is a human being who lives intellectually, morally and physically in the present. A World Citizen accepts the dynamic fact that the planetary human community is interdependent and whole, that humankind is essentially one": http://www.worldservice.org/
