Genetics may play a much greater role in heart health than previously thought. This is the conclusion stemming from studies of Ötzi the Iceman, the 5,300-year-old mummy found in the Alps. The man, who exercised regularly and certainly didn't engage in any of modern humans' vices, like smoking, watching too much TV, or consuming fast food, surprised scientists by showing definite signs of cardiovascular disease:
