Slime Zone

The hagfish ~ which is not a fish ~ has been around for about 500 million years, give or take, but it's only recently that scientists have started talking about what it can do for us (because we know it's always all about us, isn't it?). This creature's defense mechanism involves exuding a slime thick enough that it can suffocate an attacker.
