Der Führer's Food

For two and a half years, Margot Woelk, now 95, was a food taster for Adolf Hitler, one of 15 young women who ate a bit of his meals an hour before he did to ensure that he was not poisoned. It was a part of her life she tried to forget and managed, for a long time, to keep secret. "The food was delicious," she remembers, "only the best vegetables—asparagus, bell peppers, everything you can imagine. And always with a side of rice or pasta. But this constant fear—we knew of all those poisoning rumors and could never enjoy the food. Every day we feared it was going to be our last meal" (story and video): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/26/margot-woelk-hitlers-food-taster_n_3163447.html?ir=World
