Around the World ... in China

Hallstatt in Guangdong Province   Alex Hofford/Sinopix/Rex
This story has been around for a while, but I'll go with the assumption that I'm not the only one who hasn't seen it (until now). Among the many things the Chinese have replicated, most electronic and for sale to the West, are entire buildings and, beyond that, practically entire cities with their monuments. The Big Apples is there, as is the City of Lights, and an Austrian mountain hamlet: http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/architecture-design-blog/2013/jan/07/china-copycat-architecture-seeing-double

And here's a story ~ with many beautiful accompanying pictures ~ of a photographer who spent two years backpacking China, crossing all 33 of its provinces: http://petapixel.com/2013/03/08/photographer-travels-two-years-and-35k-miles-across-chinas-33-provinces/
