¿Whither Puerto Rico?

 On Nov. 6, Puerto Ricans had the opportunity to vote on their future status. It was a two-part question, the first asking whether the voter approved of the island's current status as a U.S. territory. To this, 54% of those who voted said No. The second part gave voters three choices: statehood, sovereign free association, and independence. Of those responding to this question, 61% chose statehood.
