They All Fell Down

First there was King Richard III, whose remains were found under a parking lot in London (see "A Lot Over the King's Head," Jan. 2013, and "The Head That Wore the Crown," Feb. 2013). Now it's the skeletons of 12 hapless victims of the black plague that swept Europe in the mid-1300s. They were unearthed by engineers digging a new subway tunnel: http://www.newscientist.com/blogs/shortsharpscience/2013/03/crossrail-plague-skeleton.html
