See the Cylinder

It is thought to be the first human rights bill, at 2,600 years old. This piece of clay covered with cuneiform, created during the reign of King Cyrus in Persia (now Iran), advocates freedom of worship in the Empire and lets displaced people return to their homeland. Cyrus's beliefs inspired many, including Thomas Jefferson (story and video): http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-21747567
The Cyrus Cylinder is in the United States and will be on display in five cities: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-21747567
