Remedy for Expired, Unwanted Meds

It's hard to know what to do with expired or leftover medications, and most of us have at least a couple of bottles lying around the house somewhere. We've been told not to flush them down the toilet, as they'll most likely end up in the ocean, polluting the waters and endangering wildlife. Same with tossing them in the trash, because they'll end up in landfills or garbage heaps and eventually make their way into the groundwater or some bird's stomach. So it's good to know there's a safe (let's assume ... ) alternative. Saturday, Sept. 27, is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
