Now, THAT's Adaptation!
We all know that birds will use all kinds of things to build their nests: twigs, feathers, rags, yarn, ... Researchers in Mexico noticed that city birds have been picking up cigarette butts, and of course, they wondered what that was all about. It turns out that the nicotine residue in the used filters may repel parasites.
