Quantum Spookiness

xkcd
Scientists reported that they were able to teleport information about an atom 10 feet (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/05/30/science/scientists-report-finding-reliable-way-to-teleport-data.html). Pretty amazing, hunh? But note that they said "information," not the actual atom. So what, exactly, do scientists mean when they talk about quantum teleportation? How did we get to this point, how does it all work, and what does it have to do with uncertainty and entanglement?: http://science.howstuffworks.com/science-vs-myth/everyday-myths/teleportation1.htm
