Why Ukraine?

As all ~ or many, anyway ~ eyes are turned eastward for the Olympics in Russia, its neighbor Ukraine is in the midst of a quite different showdown. Now, too, a Ukrainian Alpine skier has withdrawn from the Olympics to protest the violence in her home country.
