Thirty-one and eight million. Those are the number of years Bill Bonner has been working as the archivist at
National Geographic and the number of images, published and unpublished, he oversees ~ and he has looked at every single one. "We don't have pictures of Babe Ruth hitting a home run," he says, "but there's pictures of people like us just doing our thing" (story, video):
