Be a citizen scientist! Led by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the Audubon Society, and Bird Studies Canada, this is the 16th annual Bird Count. You're asked to help scientists by counting and/or photographing the birds in your area. They use the information to get an overview of what is happening to our bird populations over the years. In 2012, for example, they found that the Arctic-dwelling Snowy Owl seemed to be hugely expanding its habitat, to the Great Plains and the West.
